Confirmation of Sonia Sotomayor to the U.S. Supreme Court

As Chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, Senator Leahy chaired the confirmation hearings of Judge Sonia Sotomayor to be an Associated Justice of the Supreme Court. She was confirmed by the Senate on August 6, by a vote of 68 to 31.
