Leahy Hosts The Tenth Annual ‘Taste Of Vermont’
. . . Event brings 64 Vermont firms to Capitol Hill in Washington
WASHINGTON (FRIDAY, May 8, 2015) -- Senator Patrick Leahy (D-Vt.) Thursday night hosted the 10 annual “Taste of Vermont” on Capitol Hill, organized by the Lake Champlain Regional Chamber of Commerce, the Vermont Convention Bureau and the Greater Burlington Industrial Corporation. This year’s exhibition drew 64 Vermont vendors to the Nation’s Capital who shared their quality products with hundreds of invited guests.
In the ten years since Leahy launched the exhibition of Vermont products, the annual event has become a high point on the Capitol calendar, drawing a capacity crowd of hundreds who are eager to experience the ‘taste’ of Vermont, in the Senate’s ornate Kennedy Caucus Room.
Leahy said: “Tasting is believing, and hundreds of folks again came away believing in what Vermont produces. Step by step we have been building interest in our small state’s expanding variety of fine products, made with pride, skill and a tradition of excellence. It’s the perfect crossroads for Vermont businesses to showcase our diverse and unique economy, in the heart of the nation’s capital.”
The widely anticipated event featured Vermont products of everything from coffee to microbrew beers and hand-crafted chocolate to artisan cheese. The event announcement from the Lake Champlain Regional Chamber of Commerce in Vermont Business Magazine is available here.
