Mukasey To Testify Before Senate Judiciary Committee Jan. 30 Leahy Announces Justice Department Oversight Hearing
WASHINGTON (Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2008) – Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Patrick Leahy (D-Vt.) today announced that the Committee will hold the first Department of Justice oversight hearing of the year on Jan. 30, 2008. Attorney General Michael B. Mukasey will testify.
The Judiciary Committee under Chairman Leahy has held periodic oversight hearings of the Department of Justice with the Attorney General. This will be the first hearing at which Mukasey testifies since his confirmation hearing before the Judiciary Committee last October and his confirmation by the Senate in November. The hearing will be held Wednesday, Jan. 30, at 10:00 a.m.

The Senate Committee on the Judiciary has scheduled a hearing on “Oversight of the U.S. Department of Justice” for Wednesday, January 30, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. in Room 216 of the Senate Hart Office Building.
