Uninsured Vermonters
Although finding health insurance can be challenging, resources do exist for uninsured Vermonters. The State of Vermont offers a variety of health insurance programs, including Medicaid, the Vermont Health Access Plan, Catamount Health, Dr. Dynasaur, and many more.
These programs are designed to provide affordable health insurance and prescription assistance for Vermonters. Green Mountain Care can help you learn more and help you determine if you are eligible for any health care assistance through the State of Vermont. Medicare is a federal health insurance program designed for people who are disabled, have end stage renal disease, or are over 65. Other Health Care Problems
Even people who are insured sometimes have disputes with their health insurance companies. The Consumer Assistance Division of the Department of Banking, Insurance Securities and Health Care Administration can advise you of your rights if you are having trouble with your health insurance company. In addition, the Office of Health Care Ombudsman can assist Vermonters who are having trouble with their health insurance or other have other health care problems.
